thank you lianquan(: for organising it. it can't be very easy leading the club, i think, so my best wishes go to you. hopefully when i come back next year, i won't be thrashed by you, ala ntu-lightning-chess-style=X favourite junior!
can't say i have been a good sectionleader. in a way, i do wish i wasn't in the exco. things would have been much simpler, and i would probably have left the club with fonder memories. i don't care for being in the batch who revolutionised the club, nor any of those fanciful shite that exalts you in your portfolio. all i wanted was good training sessions with my fellow friends
some of the more memorable things in my 4 years:
bridge+chess in ip1, daidee-is-bridge, tianzi, slipper-exchanging in rcup, losing to a sec1 (i have nothing to be ashamed of, i know better now!), my first trophy, pf is new pres!, pseudo shifu, coro dinners with dy ly ws etc, trainings till late evening, SUPPLY, dy is pres, printing NOOB games, MEM, wennee&lover, losing to nathaniel by a few seconds in ntu06, sm consoling me, victory movie after ntu06 (final destination3), game against hx in charyang06, nationals06 7th, new shifu, mugging qipu for a month for ntu07, getting thrashed at ntu07, 3rd at charyang07, fundraising(?) with choc fondue, playing lover in all my competitions, watching games in xz, playing fy at macs, wearing out my chess&bridge shirt=D
i guess it's not just the game i miss, it's the people too. i am thankful for kaypoh and thickskinned people like shifu(pseudo la), dy, ly and sm(: not forgetting MEM.
considering how i give up pretty easily, i am surprised i stayed on in the club for so long. there were always people there for me to stay for, thankfully. weirdly enough, after the huge batch in dy's year, my cohort has only 3, including me.
