not very long ago, i used to look upon drama serials as reality, sometimes to the extent of wanting to believe that it could be reality. whenever some scenario unfolded, i would be imagining myself in the same shoes as the protagonist/antagonist. like those populer Korean series, there'd always be points where something happened to cause a rift between two people, or something that made it (almost) impossible for them to be together.
for example, if one party contracted cancer/whatever terminal disease, he/she (usually its a she) would back out from the relationship citing another reason altogether, causing the guy much grief and confusion. or when she finds out he has a golden opportunity to advance in work, and he's giving up the chance so that they could be together, and she leaves him standing.
if it was me from not very long ago, i'd be thinking that the guy/girl who walked away was very noble etc etc, and would be thinking that if i'm put in that situation, i'd do the same. but i dont know what happened, when i re-visited tv after a long hiatus, i realised i was hating the person for doing the exact same thing i'd have exalted her for doing just months ago. i am not very sure myself for this change of mindset, and it sure is weird to suddenly take off those tinted glasses and see the shows from a very cynical viewpoint.
jo used to say my life was interesting enough to be made a script. funny, it used to be a compliment to me at that time. now, i'm not so sure about it anymore.
