sorted out my photo album ytd after i woke up. haha ohmans, when i looked at my childhood photos, i was wondering 'what happened to me?!' yeah, it was THAT kind of feeling. i was very cute when i was young, okay? big eyes, fat cheeks kinda thing. haha i like my baby photos alot, so much that i replaced one photo in my photo frames with it..
then memories started flooding back too, with all the recollection growing with every photo. sometimes, i feel that primary school life is so much less stressful. other than trying to get a decent grade, which is yi4 ru2 fan2 zhang3, you only care about what to eat during recess and lunch, or what to do. (like play rubberband!) okay, that's not the point. the point is that in primary school, you don't have to think so much about stuff. everything's pretty obvious and there is less confusion and complexity. except how to act infront of your crush, yada yada, but that's irrelevant. HAHA!
i remember when i was sec2, i was on the way home from german lessons on bus 53. guess who was on the bus?! my long lost classmate in p1-p3 and then transferred to rosyth after the gep! ahhh i was like, staring at him for the entire bus ride. (crush too mah, that time i was so innocent i confessed. HAHA silly me. and did alot of dramatic things. ANYWAY) i digress. was wondering whether i should approach him to say 'hi, do you remember me? i'm peirong, blah blah blah...' but i was afraid of the awkwardness. after all, the last time we had contact was at the end of pri3. which was 5 years ago from that point of time. so, i just helplessly watched as he alighted a few stops before me. i could have said, 'nelson?' sounds so normal right? BUT I DIDN'T!! wanted to kick myself in the shin after that. was so sad.. why why WHY didn't i have the courage to go up and say hi?! bah silly me
haha comparing myself now to the me in primary school, you couldn't see a greater disparity. last time, i was so tomboyish, so gung-ho and feminist (actually i still am), short hair, fat (i still am!), and had more guy friends than female friends. erm scratch that, i was CLOSER to my guy friends. wierd huh?
haha because you know, girlfriends tend to gossip alot, and everybody is so cliqueish. for guys, just play soccer with them, and you can be their friend, that kind of thing. i was at a peak of my soccer euphoria during that period of primary school life too, forgoing my early dismissal times to stay back and play soccer in the field. ahh so fun. just run run kick kick. hahah then after that, one whole bunch of us will walk to the 315 busstop, on the way i would be buying newpaper, and zhenhe and esmond will borrow to read. the innocent times then. i could walk with one large group of guys, more than enough to form a soccer team, and not be labelled a slut. haha now? just have to say hello to a guy acquaintance, and dc will say 'and who's the slut now?' haha though it's meant in good fun and humour. hey! i have a sense of humour too okay?
but after getting into sn, my soccer stopped. the only time i played was with shurong, and she left so early. it was quite demoralising not to be able to play my favourite thing, so i put all my energy into np. haha you could say np was my life in my 2years of secondary education. i sort of regret going to sn, because i've never felt a sense of belonging there. it's quite sad lah, two years there and no attachment to anything there, whereas i wasn't even in nj for one and a half, and already felt like i belonged. perhaps its the people. although njip has less people, and the inclusion of guys, it's really very close knitted. in sn, you only know the people in your class and cca. sort of. i dont know, just didnt like the environment. but i did like np alot alot.. another push factor for me to be a policewoman, but that's again, not the point. i cared alot for my squad, and tf. the time i spent in 2d, i cherished it alot. but if i was given the liberty to turn back the clock, i wished i didn't go to sn. because it's just not me. i felt so restricted there, and now when anyone asks what school i am, they'll be astonished at my answer and say i don't look like i was from there at all. BLAH whatever.
wah i typed such a long entry, all fueled after reading a particular blog entry of a particular senior. i miss the 6A of 01. the ball confiscating by mrs choy. waking up deliberately early just to play a few minutes of football. lunch spent playing rubberband. the stall7 club (haha this was lame). and the heart which i had to guard with people like clifford inside. bah i was a lousy prefect, though i would prefer not to think that way. ladida. primary school memories are the most beautiful, purest and richest of my childhood. wished i still kept in contact more with these people though. aye fate...
